La batalla en el sector de aviones ejecutivos de recorrido “medio liviano” tiene un nuevo contrincante: el Legacy 450 de Embraer se apresta a desa ar a sus contrincantes
más directos: el Cessna Citation Latitude, el Bombardier Learjet 45 y el Gulfstream G150.
Cuando hablamos de competencia no solamente se trata de prestaciones. Y es que el secreto de Embraer, desde el desarrollo del Legacy 500, ha sido ofrecer una cabina con una altura de dos metros y una cabina de hasta 17 cm más ancha que su competidor más inmediato (el Citation Latitude).
Con una capacidad máxima de ocho pasajeros y dos tripulantes, el Legacy 450 ofrece una autonomía máxima de 2.575 millas náuticas (4.768 km) su ciente para viajar directo desde Caracas a Rio de Janeiro, desde Lima a Ciudad de México o desde Santiago de Chile a Bogotá, y si bien en términos de autonomía el Latitude es ligeramente superior, el Legacy 450 sobresale en muchas otras áreas, incluyendo una avanzada cabina de mando equipada con controles de vuelo y-by-wire (FBW).
